OBSESSED with these new Dolce Vita pumps I got last week! I wore them out for New Year's and they are fabulous. Just one of my few treasures I found at my secret shoe store in West Point, although it's not really secret just no one in West Point, GA has ever heard of a thing called "fashion." I also got these Hunter rain boots and Tory Burch flats in black at a tiny fraction of their retail price!

Finally saw Black Swan last weekend which was AMAZING. Natalie Portman was beautiful and did a wonderful job portraying a ballet dancer. I am a little bit obsessed with her character Nina's wardrobe of soft grays and pinks which she wears through most of the film. I'd like to add these few things to my ballet wardrobe:

Letter Necklace

This dainty Love Letter Necklace from Catbird is not only delicate and adorable but takes me back to my childhood fascination with tiny objects and trinkety trinkets. My mom used to have a necklace similar to this and there was actually space inside the envelope! I used to sneak into her bathroom to play with it and try it on, folding up little pieces of paper to stick in it. Weird, right? I'll have to see if she still has it around when I go home!

Fun Finds for Back to School!

Lately I've been doing some shopping - well that's what I always do so nothing new but here are some fun things I'm looking forward to adding into my wardrobe! Between Gap, Old Navy and Target I find all my basic staples to accessorize with!

To channel my inner French girl I found this striped tee and cropped denim pants at the Gap! Jill inspired me to be on the lookout for striped T's - she loves stripes!

This might be my new favorite thing. I know I will live in it this fall!

I always find good buys on plain T's and cardis at Old Navy - this cardigan was only $10 and these pocket tees only $5!

At Target I found this red (at least I hope it's red!) tulip skirt to wear to UGA football games! And also these grey cropped linen pants which are soooooo comfy they're practically sweatpants!

This week marks week #3 of my 1/2 marathon training! I have been trying to consistently run 3-4 times a week along with ballet & conditioning too! Because I've been running more I needed some new shoes...

My dad found these Asics on sale at Dick's! After getting shin splints from cross country I finally discovered the right running shoes for me and I've been loyal to Asics ever since! Can't wait to break them in this weekend!

Somewhere in my mess of a life is my long-lost Ipod Shuffle...it disappeared months ago so I promised myself I would buy myself this new Ipod Shuffle if I stuck with my running routine! For only $59 it holds 2G of music! I still have 3 weeks to go though...so we'll see!

Now I just need this Nike hot pink running top to go with my new shoes and workout routine!

The Ballerina Project

Amelia just introduced me to this Facebook group called "The Ballerina Project" and I am in love with it. Made up of photos taken by Dane Shitagi it captures ballerinas dancing in urban settings (mostly NYC) - the dancers are sooo beautiful! I could look at the photos for hours and the best part is that there are prints for sale! This picture posted it my personal fave and I will be adding this print to the Christmas list this year!

Father's Day & Shopping

So last weekend I went home to Pine Mountain for a visit for Father's Day! Having Friday to relax, Caroline and I drove over to West Point - it's like a block from Alabama - to shoe shop! There is a random shoe outlet there with lightly used shoes from photo shoots and what not all priced for under $20! I had some good finds!

What I consider to be the most perfect shoes in the world (Caroline did not agree). I already have an outfit planned around them!

Nine West gladiator sandals! I've already worn them for an entire day - they're so comfy!

These Coach loafers from many seasons ago - still cute! I've wanted some loafers ever since Jill got some JCrew ones! Also found some pretty silver Kenneth Cole pumps for Jennie to wear in the wedding she will be in next month!

Sunday we went to visit Pappy who has a new little kitten! She is so adorable and fluffy!

Found this Liberty of London robe on the Target clearance rack! I'm wearing it right now just to feel like Blair...

I had originally wanted to order a beach cover up from Victoria's Secret for the summer until I found this one at TJMaxx!

SUMMER

Although summer has not officially begun, school is out and the summer heat is here. With a few changes going on in my life I have decided to devote more time to blogging my thoughts and ideas and reading others more often for inspiration! Spring semester finished up in early May and not much has been going on in Athens - but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy! Between work, summer class and hanging out with friends I've been shopping (of course!) and trying to get back into shape. This October Athens will be hosting their first annual 1/2 Marathon! I am hoping to complete it with a little inspiration from friends and family. Along with getting back into running Amelia and I have been sneaking into the dance building for a little ballet time - I am sewing my pointe shoes soon to get back on my toes! Over the past few weeks I have really contemplated what makes me happy in life and am trying to throw myself into that fully - I am so thankful for the life I live - my wonderful sweet roomate Jill, my loving family, a supportive and inspiring circle of friends, and the opportunity to attend a great university - GO DAWGS! Spring Shopping!

I am soooo ready for some Spring weather! Last week was Spring Break which was much needed. After visiting my sister in Charleston we headed to Jacksonville Beach and participated in the Gate River Run! It was so much fun & my next goal is to complete a 1/2 marathon! We'll see.... Yesterday was so icky and I'm ready for sunshine! With so much coming up this Spring there are a few wants/needs, of course.

So This Is The New Year...

Woo 2010. So far it has been filled with fun, laughter, and trying to meet my expectations and resolutions. I have done well with a few, like having an exercise routine thanks to my workout buddy Raven and the convenience of Ramsey...and not so great with the ones like getting dressed for class 3-4 days a week-I have only managed that today; too bad sweatpants are not chic. Anyway, for the most part I have enjoyed becoming a better student but MISSING MY ROOMMATE and understanding how it feels to live alone. I think if I had a cat it would make it a bit more bearable, but I suppose my beta fish Newton will have to suffice for now. Or maybe if I had a lovely white vase filled with flowers I would feel a bit more cheerful upon returning home to our apartment. A few things to look forward to:

SPRING! I am getting so excited about spring clothes and floral prints, I love these color combinations from Vanessa Bruno's spring collection of black, greys, hot pink, tan, and mustard yellow. It makes me want to wear my new mustard yellow skinny belt!

GOING TO D.C. THIS WEEKEND! To visit my long-lost roommate/BFF and see D.C. for the first time!!! She is interning on Capitol Hill for the semester and is going to take me all around cute D.C., I can't wait!!! And Saturday we have tickets to American Ballet Theater's Romeo and Juliet! I am so excited! We will be going for runs by famous monuments, eating cupcakes in Georgetown, and just being cute in general, living according to her new fabulous life : )

Wishing I had this black classic Timex watch with gold accents...perfect for everyday. It would make getting to class on time even more fun, and possibly allow sweatpants to be chic after all? Or not...wishful thinking!

This beautiful Vera Wang necklace of crystals and tulle. It reminds me of a sugar plum fairy tutu. I've been on the look out for a fabric-y/sparkly necklace, but there are tons of more affordable ones out there!

I'm so glad it's finally getting cooler and staying that way! I now have chance to drink pumpkin spice coffee out of my new favorite mug: my halloween TJMaxx find! This is the third year we have done this and we currently have subscriptions to Lucky, Teen Vogue, Marie Claire, Fitness, Self, Cosmopolitan, Bon Cuisine, Ready Made, House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Weddings, and there are many other options! It's much easier to accumulate points than you'd think!

My Future Home

So I am obsessed with these tiny houses. I think it goes along with my obsession with all things tiny. They are completely functional and the second I have an extra $20,000 and some time to build it I am going to have one. The only minor adjustment I would make would be a rather large closet added onto the back! They are so cute and way cooler than my playhouse and closet I had to play in when I was young.

I'm so excited for this movie to come out! I bought the book over Christmas break and I loved it! My roommate Jill and I are the worst shopoholics...especially when we're together!

It's coming to theaters Friday, February 13th! I think Isla Fisher is so cute and I love the crazy colorful outfits she gets to wear!
